Terry Talley, Ph.D.

Terry Talley is the Co-Director of the Acxiom Laboratory for Applied Research and the chief architect for Acxiom’s Products and Infrastructure Technology Organization. He is responsible for the overall architecture of Acxiom’s grid computing infrastructure. In January 2006, EMC2 Corporation purchased the intellectual property rights and software associated with Acxiom’s grid implementation. Acxiom and EMC2 are now jointly developing a commercial grid computing environment, called the Business Information Grid(TM), based upon the Acxiom grid implementation and Talley continues in his role as chief architect for the commercial product.

Talley is also the chief architect for Acxiom’s Customer Data Integration (CDI) software suite, which includes Acxiom’s AbiliTec® and InfoBase® products, and Acxiom’s customer information management software. Previously, these products were available only to customers of Acxiom’s hosted-services business, but as part of the EMC2 partnership, these products are also being packaged for sale as commercial software and services.

Talley joined Acxiom in June 1995. From 1982 to 1995, he worked for IBM in a variety of software development and networking organizations, including the IBM Federal Systems Division at Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX; the IBM Information Network in Dallas, TX; and IBM ISSC in Research Triangle Park, NC.

Talley received a BS in Computer Science from Baylor University, his MS in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Arlington, and his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a member of the ACM, the IEEE, and the IEEE Computer Society.
